On September 13, 2023, 8-year-old Shama (name changed), who exudes determination despite having cerebral palsy, arrived at Children in India with her parents and received a wheelchair. This wheelchair is expected to enhance her mobility and social interactions, enabling her to attend a mainstream school.
Children In India strongly believes that inclusive education as a means to empower children with disabilities and promote their equality as Indian citizens.
The assistive device would also alleviate the burden on her parents when visiting doctors, friends, and family, as Shama would no longer need to be physically carried by her parents.
