To ensure early intervention for Children living with Cerebral palsy with comprehensive treatment and compassionate care so that they have quality and self-reliant life.

‘Children in India’is a national network of inspired healthcare professionals and family members of children living with Cerebral Palsy. You are welcome to join our movement that strives to provide quality care and support to ensure a life without limits for children with Cerebral Palsy in India.

With your support and participation we can empower every child improve mobility and communication. Timely treatment will enable many childrengo to schools, have jobs, get married, have children and live independently. All it takes is early detection, opportunity and inclusion.

Cerebral palsy is the most common motor disorder and the second most common disability found in children. Children and adults have difficulties with movement and poster due to damage or paralysis in the brain.

About Us

In the partnership with State Government, various roles of Children in India are as follows

1. Work with National Health Mission (NHM) and Rashtriya Bal SwasthyaKaryakram (RBSK) to identify and refer children with CP to the nearest designated weekly clubfoot clinic

2. Develop, display and distribute public awareness and teaching materials (IEC materials) on CP to reach-out to every child with treatment, rehabilitation and care.

3. Facilitate training and capacity building to Healthcare professionals including doctors, physiotherapists, community health volunteers, social workers and counsellors.

4. Maintain medical records of every child to record treatment and rehabilitation progress

5. Distribute quality assistive devices customised to the requirement of every individual child.

6. Maintain 24X7 CP Helpline at the national, state and district level to provide guidance and information to parents of children with  CP.

 

Children in India primarily partner with government Medical Colleges, hospitals and District Early Intervention Centres (DEICs) to establish designated weekly CP clinics. Children living with Cerebral Palsy are identified at an early age and referred to these designated CP clinics with the active participation of ASHAS, Anganwadis and RBSK mobile screening units. Parents of these children are trained to provide the right physio therapy and these children are provided equal education opportunity and social integration is confirmed.
